the threads are keeping time, marking history. until now.

Protected by the gods and powering the three Great Portals of Kindness, Art, and Language, The Web of Time re-arranges itself as humans change their minds, fall in love, or cause empires to rise and fall. When the Great Portals close from the world, time begins erasing itself, histories start to disappear, Earth falls into chaos, and the gods don’t know how to stop it—until Jack meets Anna.

about Anna

Fifteen-year-old Anna is a passionate but lonely writer who is protected by her companion, Nafusa, the cat god. Quiet and thoughtful, Anna is deeply observant with a gift for healing through words. Though she is comfortable with the wondrous and abnormal, Anna must find her way through a storm of grief and help heal time as it unravels by writing history back into existence.

about Jack

Jack doesn’t talk much. Instead, Jack speaks through colored pencils and paintbrushes. Curious but guarded, Jack stumbles into Anna—and his fate—when he accidentally falls through the Great Portal of Art in Tunis. When they realize that Anna’s gift for healing words and Jack’s natural talent for drawing places as they were can reinstate the Great Portals and restore the world’s balance, Jack must face his past—and the darker gods of chaos—to stop time from tearing apart.

About the author

Born just outside of Rome, Flavia grew up bouncing back and forth between Italy and California. She has lived between Tunisia, Libya, and Palestine, so her writing often revolves around place and identity, and is usually written on a plane where she inevitably apologizes to the person sitting next to her for bumping their elbow. This is actually how The Web of Time got its start—on a flight between Tunis and Rome, spent thinking about the places we run to and wondering what the gods might make of days like the ones we are living through.
